COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAMINATION

Most cataracts can be diagnosed with an eye exam. The eye doctor will test your vision and examine your eyes with a slit lamp microscope to look for problems with the lens and other parts of the eye.Tonometry measures the pressure within your eye to detect glaucoma. During tonometry, eye drops are used to numb the eye to then measure the inner pressure of the eye with a tonometer.

Eye infection treatments may require more doctor follow up visits and prescribed medication. Here are some of the eye infections: pink eye/conjunctivitis, viral keratitis, fungal keratitis and more. You may have symptoms in one or both eyes when you have an infection. Look out for this kind of trouble: Pain or discomfort, Itchy eyes, Feeling that something's on or in your eye, Eye hurts when it's bright (light sensitivity), Burning in your eyes, Small, painful lump under your eyelid or at the base of your eyelashes, Eyelid is tender when you touch it, Eyes won't stop tearing up and Irritation in your eyes

The eye doctor will need to take some measurements to properly fit your contact lenses. If the contact lenses do not fit properly it could cause discomfort, blurry vision or even damage the eye. The corneal curvature measurement is to assure that the fitting curve of the lens properly fits the curve of your eye. After taking the proper measurements of the corneal the doctor will determine the type of contact that could work best with your eyes.
